Live Electronics

I’ve been studying Live Electronics for a year at The Academy of Music in Oslo, Norway. My focus has been working on my live performances using Ableton Live, while simultaneously doing live visuals.

Here´s a short excerpt from my exams in Live Electronics. I did both visuals and all the audio while playing. None of the sounds where pre-recorded. Hope you like it ;)

Det Hev Ei Rose Sprunge

Together with my good friend and guitarist Stian Larsen, we just released our own version of the classic German christmas psalm “Es ist Ein Ros Entsprungen” or “Det Hev Ei Rose Sprunge” as its called in Norwegian. The song was recorded in my own home studio and is also produced by me. Hope you enjoy.

KÖök

Frog Leaps In / Sound of Water

kÖök is the invention of guitarists Jørn Erik Ahlsen and Stian Larsen and comes out of the experimental music scene in Oslo. The duo plays free improvised music and navigates the landscape between electronic ambient and experimental jazz. Their minimalistic sound is developed through extensive use of analogue effects, loops and prepared guitars.

I was given the great privilege and opportunity to remix one of their songs. I mainly used material that was already recorded, and processed it through Ableton Live. You can hear the result in the video underneath. Please take a listen.

Events can often offer big entertaining shows and action packed musical performances on big stages, with led screens and pyro even. And it can be a lot of fun.

But sometimes it can also be just beautiful intimate moments, on massive stages.

This piece was performed with dancers from Quickstyle.

Cinnamon ReSource offers a coherent musical journey through both improvised acoustic and open electronic experiments, firmly rooted in Marius' compositions and musical visions. Through a varied soundscape, Cinnamon ReSource invites the listener into its musical world, which offers everything from low-key solo sections and beautiful melodic lines, to violent suites in grandiose format!
